In other news, an army truck carrying 28 passengers and soldiers fell into a deep ravine on Feb. 8 in Maco town in Compostela Valley, resulting in the death of five persons and wounding 23 others, including three soldiers, according to the Mindanoa Times.

This term generally refers to the 18 Non-Moro Indigenous Communities in Mindanao which, by force of colonization, were driven to the deepest hinterlands.

In a report filed by San Luis Police to the Caraga Police Information Office, it was learned that five armed men believed to be NPA rebels headed by one Kumander Luding poured in gasoline to the heavy equipment and set it on fire.
The bulldozer is owned by Bong Seoquean, a sub contractor of Wood Land Domain, Inc. doing construction works in San Luis, Agusan del Sur 90 kilometers southwest of this city.
Police and military authorities claimed the non-payment of revolutionary taxes by the construction firm to the NPA caused the rebels to torch the heavy equipment.
