Miguel de Cervantes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra [IPA: miˈɣel ðe θerˈβantes saˈβe(ð)ra] (September 29, 1547 – April 23, 1616), was a Spanish novelist, poet and playwright.
The date is not recorded but since he was named Miguel it is believed he was born on the feast day of St. Michael (Sept 29) in 1547.
In the same manner as Gil Polo in his Diana makes the river Turia pronounce the praises of the celebrated Valencians, the poetic fancy of Cervantes summoned the muse Calliope before the shepherds and shepherdesses, to render solemn homage to those contemporaries whom he esteemed worthy of distinction as poets.

We work locally to inspire and inform our regional citizens and help turn them into stewards who care for and protect their surroundings and do their business with the health of the San Miguel Watershed in mind.
Our watershed is a one million acre basin through which flows the San Miguel River, from its headwaters in the 14,000 foot alpine peaks above Telluride to its confluence with the Dolores River in red rock canyon country at 5,000 feet elevation.
Over 60% of the San Miguel Watershed is public land, including some of the nation's most beautiful and biologically intact landscapes.

Founded in 1945 to jumpstart Colorado's first biological control program, the Insectary is located in Palisade near Grand Junction and operated by the Colorado Department of Agriculture … Biological control allows farmers, orchardists and weed management folks to decrease their reliance on chemical controls in an integrated pest or weed management program.
To sell off this incredible public asset is a step backwards in controlling any exotic species in this state, and protecting our threatened natives… Yet, it's good to remember that the proposed axing of the state's Insectary is not a story about bad politicians run amuck.
And the view, well, we locals may not appreciate it, but Orvis is nestled at the foot of the San Juan Mountains and commands an unobstructed view of majestic beauty.
