It was adapted to Kabuki the same year and staged for the first time in December 1748 in Ôsaka at the Naka no Shibai [casting].
The "Sandanme" act (third act) was performed with the actors Ichimura Mihoemon, Yamamoto Koheiji and Ichinoyama Hikoshirô II in the roles of Moronô, Momoi Wakasanosuke and Hen'ya Hangan.
The "Sandanme" act, the third act of "Kanadehon Chûshingura", is made up of three scenes commonly called "Shinmotsu" (literally "the Gifts"), "Matsu-no-Ma Ninjô" (literally "Sword-drawing in the Pine-Tree Room") and "Ura Mon" (literally "the Back Gate").

There are six divisions in Sumo: Makuuchi, Juryo, Makushita, Sandanme, Jonidan and Jonokuchi.
Wrestlers in the Makushita and Sandanme divisions can wear a form of traditional short overcoat over their yukata and are allowed to wear straw sandals, called zori.
The sekitori can wear silk robes of their own choice and the quality of the garb is significantly improved.

He has won one Sandanme division championship, and is a tsuki/oshi man. I first noticed him while watching asa-geiko at Sadogatake-beya last July before the Nagoya basho.
Kagaya got off to a rough start in the Sandanme division in September 2003 starting 0-3; however, he showed serious heart finishing the basho with three wins in his last four bouts.
Although born and raised in captivity in the Buryat Republic of Russia, near Lake Baikal, Oorora is of Asian descent, most likely having Mongolian blood due to the proximity of Buryat to Mongolia.

You look at the current lineup of Hatachiyama-beya rikishi, and it consists of Hakurozan and 10 other rikishi with the highest being Shotenyu ranked at Sandanme 28.
Suppose you're Shotenyu, the highest-ranked rikishi in your stable, when they introduce the new guy, a beast from Russia who is already bigger and stronger than you.
Hakurozan learns the system as he goes and rises through the ranks on sheer ability and size.
