  Sandman (Marvel Comics) Summary
The Sandman is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe, traditionally an adversary of Spider-Man.
Sandman eventually discovers that—starting with his hand—his body is slowly transforming into glass, although he is able to reverse the effect.
Sandman did not appear in the Spider-Man animated series of the 1990s because the series did not want to interfere with the continuity of James Cameron's proposed Spider-Man movie, in which the Sandman and Electro were supposed to be the villains.

Sandman (Marvel Comics) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Sandman is Flint Marko, who got his powers from an accidental radiation bombardment on an atomic bomb-testing beach, which caused Marko's molecules to merge with that of the sand under him.
In the Ultimate Marvel universe, Flint Marko is a genetic mutation of the industrialist Justin Hammer, one of the results of an attempt to recreate the super soldier formula.
Sandman did not appear in the Spider-Man animated series of the 90s because the series did not want to interfere with the continuity of James Cameron's proposed Spider-Man movie, in which the Sandman and Electro were supposed to be the villains.

Later, the Sandman was contacted by Doctor Octopus to join a team of supervillains he was creating called the Sinister Six, which included the Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, Electro, and Mysterio.
While the new Sandman is not the sadistic monstrosity that his purely evil side was, he is a criminal and seems to lack any desire to become a hero or do good.
Sandman is one of the villains recruited to recover the Identity Disc, but is seemingly killed due to mutinous behaviour.

eBay Guides - Comics Buying Guide
From the early days of newspaper comic strips, crime stories, and tales of suspense, to the reign of superheroes, horror stories, and adult themes, comic books have both chronicled and become part of pop culture history in the United States.
Comics evolved from newspaper comic strips and were first sold as comic books during the early 1930s, ushering in the platinum age.
Comic book values typically depend on a number of factors, including how hard to find a particular issue is and the condition of the comic book.

 Don Markstein's Toonopedia: The Sandman
The 1939 issue of New York World's Fair Comics, an extra-big anthology DC put out to capitalize on the eponymous event, contained a Sandman story, and probably hit the stands a week or two before his first Adventure story (tho the one in Adventure is believed to have been written and drawn earlier).
By the time The Sandman was seen again, in one of the 1960s annual team-ups between The Justice Society and The Justice League of America, a couple of changes had taken place.
Meanwhile, DC launched another character called The Sandman, but this one is neither Wesley Dodds nor the guy Simon and Kirby introduced decades later — he's The Sandman, Lord of Dreams, Death's Younger Brother, and all that.

 Sandman (comic character)
The Sandman is a comic book character created by writer Gardner Fox and artist Bert Christman[?] in 1939 for World's Fair Comics, published by the comic book company now known as DC Comics; thereafter he appeared in Adventure Comics from issues #40 to #102.
This Sandman was originally intended to be the actual Sandman of popular myth, "eternal and immortal," although in a later retcon by Roy Thomas[?], he was "revealed" to be Dr. Garrett Sanford, a UCLA psychology professor who became trapped in the Dream Dimension.
Like the Marvel Comics Sandman, Sand gained the power to turn into sand, though otherwise he was the true heir to the original, pulp fiction-inspired Sandman in all but name.

Sandman is an award winning book, it won an award in competition with ordinary text literary works, but it is not for children, not even close.
The comics in the adult section were included because of their historical value, not their literary value, but because they were written in an era when comics companies felt a strong sense of responsibility to produce comics for children, they are a lot more mom friendly than the one's in the young adult collection.
The Bible in comic form is available in three forms, one in children's, one in children's Spanish, and one in young adult, the one in young adult is for teens or older people, I suggest the one in children's for children, many older people may prefer it also.

Gaiman, of course, had long ago cemented his reputation as modern comics' premier fantasist with The Sandman, and the notion of the writer bringing his unique sensibility to bear on Marvel's iconic characters was an intriguing one.
To be sure, 1602 (retitled Marvel 1602 in its hardcover and recent softcover collection form) boasts the look and feel of Gaiman's signature work.
But readers hoping for hints of Sandman's literary and historical resonances, or even a grand adventure equal to 1602's early hype, are in for a not-so-rude awakening.

When 1602 was first announced by Marvel, I was under the impression that Neil Gaiman was simply going to take the easy way out: "re-imagining" the heroes and villains of the Silver Age Marvel Universe as existing in England during the reign of Queen Elizabeth.
The premise of Marvel 1602 is as deceptively simple as the title suggests: the iconic characters of the Marvel universe are placed into Elizabethan England.
Marvel 1602 is a perfect vehicle for Neil Gaiman to jump back into the comics world and Marvel will definitely benefit from his presence.
