Has info beyond the Samurai Sourcebook in its field; it traces developments in weaponry and tactics and goes into detail wrt things like army composition and how the sengoku battle was executed.
I've also been surprised at the lack of rule sets which actually have some luck recreating the Sengoku Jidai battlefield.

At first I was expecting another rehash of the Shin Sangoku Musou releases, and initial screenshots seemed to confirm this.
The Sengoku Jidai was really over by around 1594 (although other historians will put that date at 1598, 1603 or 1615 depending on what event you want to consider its close), at which point Musashi was like 10 years old.

Sengoku Musou, better known overseas as Samurai Warriors, is a game made by Omega Force and published by KOEI, the same developer and publisher of the famous Shin Sangoku Musou (Dynasty Warriors) series.
If Shin Sangoku Musou is based on the Chinese Three Kingdoms period, Sengoku Musou is based on the Japanese Sengoku period, which happened in the 16th century.
Some characters' movesets are still similar to Sengoku Musou 1's moveset, but some others' are similar to the Shin Sangoku Musou movesets, but with improvements.

 IGN: Koei Unveils New Online Title
The company will be developing a massively multiplayer Online version of Daikoukai Jidai, a naval simulation series set in the 16th century.
The game will initially be developed for the PC, with possible releases on the PS2 and other platforms to follow depending on how things turn out.
While the company will be revealing solid information regarding the game itself at a press conference next week (stay tuned to IGN for more on that soon!), it was revealed that the game uses the Dynasty Warriors engine as its base.
