		Each of the ten orders of sannyasins, renunciants, is affiliated with one of the four principal maths, ascetic monasteries, traditionally founded by Shankara.

	Sannyasa in Modern Times
		This means that the sannyasins of today are fully educated in all matters, practical as well as spiritual, and so they are better able to deal with the maintenance, management and propagation of the mission.

		Somendra was not the first of Osho's sannyasins to fall victim to this pernicious syndrome but may have been the first "Anand therapist" (AT), as early as the late 70's.
		By 1980-81 Somendra was in and out of his discipleship with Osho, as Osho continued to bash him with comments on his unconscious ambitions, and his competition with Teertha, the well-ensconced "head monk." Somendra was the first of this lot to leave Osho, a few years before Teertha himself and Rajen (Alan Lowen).
