Sanpete is bounded along its eastern side by the Wasatch Plateau (sometimes known as the Manti Mountains).

MANTI—The future of free television broadcasts in Sanpete County is in question because of a federal law passed Dec. 21, 2005 requiring the termination of all analog television transmissions by February 2009.
Doug Barton, owner of KMTI, and Kent Parsons, of Monroe, Sevier County, approached the Sanpete County Commission last week and told them that even though the deadline is three years away, plans need to be made as soon as possible to upgrade analog translator stations in the county to receive and transmit digital television signals.
Most rural counties in Utah are already transmitting digital television or have gotten on board with the master plan.
