Call it unbelievable, but the third-place Lompoc Braves are going to the CIF Division 4 soccer semifinals after a spine-tingling 2-1 come-from-behind victory over CIF defending champion Santa Ana Valley Friday at rocking Huyck Stadium.
The victory was part of a wave of success for Central Coast soccer as Santa Maria and Santa Ynez also won to give the LPL three of four semifinal berths.
The win opens the door to the first visit to the semifinals for LHS since 1986, before any of the current Braves were born.
