		SANTERS kept increasing its momentum through a steady stream of albums, including Mayday (EP 1981), Racing Time (1982) Guitar Alley (1984).
		SANTERS first three albums, Guitar Alley, Racing Time and Shot Down in Flames were originally released in more than ten countries around the world including Canada, the United States, Germany, Japan, UK, Sweden, France, Spain, Australia and the Benelux.
		SANTERS are currently performing concerts in support of Cold Fusion and will soon return to the studio to record their much anticipated reunion album.

		Other heavy-hitters like "Hotline", "Hate To Love You" and the moody "Black Magic" all helped cement Santers as one of the more talented units on the rock scene, proving they had substance and weren't just image - as so many of their American counterparts seemed to be.
		In 1999 the ultimate Santers collection was issued - a 4 CD boxset which included the first 3 releases, as well as the unreleased fourth album and several additional tracks previously unavailable.
		The fourth disc, entitled TOP SECRECY did see the light of day later that year as a solo disc, the same time all their material was enjoying a revitalized interest in the Orient and in Europe.

		During the 80s, Santers toured with Ozzy Osbourne, Blue Oyster Cult, Golden Earring, Ratt, Triumph, and Accept.
		As a means of comparison, Rick's voice is somewhat similar to Brian Howe (ex-Ted Nugent/ex-Bad Company), and musically, fans of Aldo Nova should enjoy Santers mix of hooky choruses, upfront guitars and 80s keys.

		History lesson time: Santers were a highly capable and confident, highly commercial and incredible Canadian hard rock sity-ation from the early '80s.
		Purveyors of three slick, drinkable, Def Lep-probable records, Santers slinked off after semi-profitable success due to their label folding and leader Rick Santers getting a high-exposure, heart-searchin' touring gig with buds Triumph.
		Top Secrecy is a little limp and poppy but hey, it's Santers, so it's well done (these guys record and write like bloody friggin' star-crossed lovers).

		Amazon Review - Cold Fusion: Best of Santers, Santers CD I had read about Santers from the long out of print, bible of metal, Martin Popoff's "Collector's Guider To Heavy Metal".
		Santers' melodies & song structures also brought to mind songs like Journey's "Wheel In The Sky" (I know, I know....but "Wheel In The Sky" is/was arguably one of the heaviest songs ie closest thing to hard rock/metal Journey ever produced).
		Rick Santers' guitar playing is very similar to Dave Meniketti's playing with Y&T (albums like "Mean Streak" & "Black Tiger") with a little bit of the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent, thrown in on the more rocking tracks.

		I'm very flattered when I get Emails from people who are just discovering SANTERS for the first time and say they can't believe our first albums were recorded in the '80's because they don't sound like the '80's.
		But, writing a bunch of new material that SANTERS would do a great job recording, and releasing a new album with all the original members....

	HOT NEW AOR/PROG/HARDROCK/METAL REVIEWS
		A few years ago there was then the release of this best of CD 'Cold fusion', which is quite interesting, because there are 2 unreleased bonustracks of demos from the 1980 album 'Shot down in flames'.
		Although I would have picked some of SANTERS' other songs (like the superb classics "Black magic", "Caught in the wind" and "Too young to die") this is still a nice collection if you never heard any of SANTERS' Melodic Hardrock.
		It's also a must for the SANTERS fans, because of the 2 demosongs.

		Actually, I decided to google Rick's name after I posted here and came across that same wasaga site - I had to laugh when I saw that he is indeed playing jazz now.
		LOL I knew he was way too sophisticated a player even then to just play (hard) rock.
		I know the band is once again split up but the 'Sweden Rock' people should really get those guys to reunite one more time - they'd be great for that festival.

		The band fullfilled their contractual agreements in 1989 by releasing the compilation CLASSICS, a retrospective of the trio's 9 albums together.
		Mr X was a virtual unknown at the time (and where pray tell is he now?) but Santers enjoyed some radio success with his band (somewhat vanely named Santers) with a remake of the Free classic "All Right Now" some years earlier.
		The reformed group released EDGE OF EXCESS later that year and saw two singles, "Child Of The City" and "Trouble Maker", which was featured on the soundtrack of "Hellraiser III".
