 | | Brother, nonetheless, though using ambiguously disturbing subject matter, retains that classic AIC penchant for scarily and enormously delving into somewhat taboo, grave themes, yet resulting in an outcome that's consistently optimistic, exclusively due to the beauty with which it was composed, written and played. |
 | | Totally unprecedented by their debut album, Alice in Chains' "Sap", a four-song EP that preceeded the release of their dark masterpiece "Dirt", is a great little record. |
 | | Invariably, this album set the stage for "Dirt" as much as "Facelift" did, featuring a more introspective view of the band, and while I don't find the material particularly gripping (although when I first heard this, I played it to death), it's certainly an interesting detour along the way. |
