Balochi, a north-western Iranian language, is the principal language of Balochistan,in Pakistan.
The official language in the areas of Gwadar (occupied by Sultanate of Oman until 1958) was Arabic.
The western Balochi dialect is spoken between Karachi (Pakistan) and Kerman (Iran), among the Baloch of Turkmenistan, the Sultanate of Oman, the Khorasan province of Iran and Sistan (Iran-Afghanistan).

It is widely spoken and understood as a second language in Northern and Western Sindh down to the suburbs of Karachi and in Kachhi plain of Baluchistan.
They had their own languages but the Saraiki language and culture was so rich and deep rooted that it absorbed all the languages and cultures of invaders and developed itself into a unique language and culture.
A Saraiki saying is “ away from the walls of house is as much distant as the city of Kandhar.” Saraikis are passively objective in showing their response or giving their opinion.

Philologically, the Baluchi language is of a Persian complexion as is evident from the Persian words and expressions in the two dialects of the language.
One author claimed that the origin and growth of the Punjabi language was "a result of administrative divisions of northern India since Mughal rule," made Punjab a central administrative division; its language rose to prominence after the 16th century due to the socio-political situation.

The Saraiki regions now in the Punjab have to form a new federating unit; and the historically Pashtun areas dumped on Balochistan have to merge in the NWFP to become a federating unit called Pashtunistan, Pakhtunkhawa or Afghania.
The primacy of the Balochi lanuage in Balochistan, of the Sindhi language in Sindh, of the Saraiki language in Saraikia / Saralkistan, of the Pashtu language in Pashtunistan and of the Panjabi language in Punjab have to be recognized on all levels and for all purposes.
Only English has to be the official language and the medium of instruction for higher education to be taught along with the relevant provincial/state national language from the earliest stage of education.
