 Governor General Cartoons
Because the Governor General doesn't really have a political role, he or she is rarely in the public spotlight, and as a result cartoons of the GG are not very common.
Historically, the Governor General was supposed to be the emissary of the British monarch to Canada.
The Governor General can then accept his resignation and call new elections, or appoint a new Prime Minister, or refuse the resignation (the last two powers are never used, but remain part of the GG's "reserve" constitutional authority).

Conservative prospects in Saskatchewan were poor, as his five political defeats before his election to the House of Commons in 1940 (but not yet for Prince Albert) confirmed.
Election campaigns revived his spirits after the crisis of 1963 and after two years of fractious opposition in 1965.
Perhaps his most bitter defeat was as the forlorn leader of the provincial Conservatives in the Saskatchewan general election of 1938.

Lloyd was faced several challenges: the taxes in Saskatchewan were among the highest in Canada; spending on health care, welfare and education were high; and Lloyd lacked the popular support that previous CCF leader and premier Tommy Douglas had enjoyed.

The apex was reached in 1988, Canada's 'free-trade' election, when the New Democrats captured 37% of the vote and won 19 of B.C.'s 32 seats.
After enjoying support from an average of 32% of voters in four elections in the 1960s, the party soared to 39.6% in 1972 and captured a majority of seats in the Legislative Assembly.
With increasingly-unpopular NDP governments in Canada's two-largest English-speaking provinces, perhaps it was inevitable that the party's federal wing would feel voters' wrath in the 1993 general election, but the results were shocking nonetheless.
