The basic idea of the satchel charge was not Finnish but related to a German practice of linking together grenades to destroy or disable French and British tanks in World War I. In 1936, Finnish Capt. Kaarlo Tuurna studied this German method and decided he could improve upon it.
The charges, known as Kasapanos in Finnish, were a very basic design of TNT packed inside a box with a sheet metal covering.
The Finns had originally planed to use the cocktail in conjunction with satchel charges but it was found that if the cocktail was thrown into the air ducts near the engine, the flames would be taken into the engine creating a massive fire.

I usually delete all equipment and explosives, except for the satchel charges I need, because it helps to speed up the list search for an item or a medkit during the mission.
For example, with 3 satchel charges, you will max out at 6/8 clips or 7/8 clips of ammo, depending on which ranger you selected.

There are two steps to using a satchel charge.
A deployed satchel cahrge can be manually exploded by hitting with the damage equivelant of two spin discs.
If you use an invertory station or pick up another pack while the satchel charge is deployed then the deployed charge will just disappear.
