Bose’s paper, translated by Einstein under the title “Planck’s Gesetz und Lichtquanten-hypothese” was published in the August 1924 issue of Zeitschrift fur Physik.
After Bose’s paper came an avalanche of developments, the extension of Bose’s theory to particles of arbitrary mass and non-zero chemical potential by Einstein (1924, 1925): the Fermi-Dirac statistics for electrons (1926), the quantization of the electromagnetic field by Heisenberg and Pauli (1929, 1930), and quantum electrodynamics by Dirac (1927, 1935).

Bose assumed certain rules for deciding when two photons should be counted up as either identical or different.
Bose had trouble getting people to believe him and to publish his ideas in the scientific magazines of the day, so he sent them to Einstein.

Bose was a multi-talented man who made his mark in science in 1924 when he wrote a research paper that became one of the foundations of quantum theory.
He worked with some of the great scientists of his times including Marie Curie and Einstein, was a musician, a scholar of literature and poetry, a translator (he was the first person to translate Einstein's work on relativity into English from the original German), and a nationalist.
Bose himself struggled to make the scientific world accessible for all, and in that sense, Dr. Holgate continues in that tradition.
