  SAURIA Arrand Pritchard Etchelon
This is a shame, as in many ways 'Sauria' works well as an old-fashioned SF adventure story in the vein of the golden age - albeit with the occasional inclusion of some slightly more contemporary hard SF or space operatic elements.
For example the Fe-nix is supposedly a vast craft - large enough to carry fuel for a 300-year trip, five atmosphere generators of indeterminate but probably large size, tons of equipment, and the living space and stasis chambers of six crew.
These criticisms aside 'Sauria' was an enjoyable enough read, and is a pleasant way to wile away an afternoon if you ignore the inconsistencies and simply read this as 50s/60s era pulp SF.

 Encyclopedia: Sauria
Classes Ichthyosauria Sauropterygia Lepidosauria Archosauria Diapsids (two arches) are a group of tetrapod animals that developed two holes (temporal fenestra) in each side their skulls, about 300 million years ago during the late Carboniferous period.
Sauria is a clade of the reptilian family tree, that includes all living diapsids, as well as their common ancestor and all its extinct descendents, which date back to Permian times.
The term "Sauria" has previously been used in a generic sense to refer to a suborder of Squamata, including the lizards (Lacertilia) as opposed to the snakes (Ophidia), but this classification is no longer used, as Sauria so-defined is a paraphyletic group.
