Exclusive review: Randy Savage's debut album - 'Be A Man'   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06)
Savage has said himself that he doesn't think he's the best rapper, nor is he striving to be.
Savage sounds okay on them, but these are two songs you're really not going to remember for too long after listening.
It's weird hearing Savage sing about love in a mellow tone, but based on the overall beat, this is one of the few songs with a softer tone that really comes off well on the CD.

The duo’s debut album, Savage Garden, entered the Australian charts at No. 1 in March and remained at that peak for 17 weeks—it was released around the world two weeks later.
That September saw the release of a new single previewing their forthcoming album, the smooth, romantic ballad, “I Knew I Loved You.” In November of that year, the duo’s second album, Affirmation, was released around the world.
Savage Garden's great success was reflected once again at the Billboard Music Awards, where they won Best Adult Contemporary Video and No. 1 Adult Contemporary Song of the Year, for “I Knew I Loved You,” and No. 1 Adult Contemporary Artist of the Year.

Savage's Loose 'n' Lethal was easily the best album releasd by the British indie label Ebony Records (though Grim Reaper ultimately became more popular), and as good a representation of the classic NWOBHM style as any album of the day.
The standout track from that album, "Let It Loose", was covered by none other than Metallica on one of their early demos.
With the success of that debut album came a move to a bigger record label, but the resulting album, Hyperactive, wasn't quite as well received, and with continual organizational problems, the band through in the towel soon afterward.

Jackpine Savage (Bruce Haack) - Dimension 5 presents Together gullbuy review
Jackpine Savage is slang for someone who lives in the woods outside of a town and is sort of representative of how this album fits into the Bruce Haack discography.
Much more an electronic pop album than the other Bruce Haack albums I've heard released under his real name and which are usually children's albums, the Jackpine Savage album Together still has a good dose of psychedelia imbued in it, even if the whole thing is a much more laidback affair.
The album has a much more hushed feeling to it and even when there are children's voices here, they are the voices of a shy child for instance during Intermission who can barely speak into the microphone.

Fred Savage and the Unbeatables formed in November 2001 when, assembled in drummer Steve Tacl's basement, several Cathedral High School friends noticed that a band might be formed from their ranks.
The exceptions seem to be the solitary high points of the album, Me and Green and Sloth Man. While the other songs are well written, and generally well played, this album will never be a classic because of poor vocals displayed on most of the songs.
This album of originals is cleverly, intelligently, and superbly compiled with each band member adding their own style and flash, I can't help but be impressed by how much the music moves me, and makes me want to jump up and dance around and sing.
