Film Reviews   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
Film reviews create context reverentially by allusion to elements of the cinematic context in which films are created (the physical structuring of sets, locations, participants, forms of participation and film genre) and the character content of movies (actors, places, roles, characters).
An essential element of the film review is to repackage the story of the film within the few hundred words available; to convey what the film is about, to chart the course of the story from when it begins to the final scene, to locate the film within a temporal and/or geographical setting.
Films, however, illustrating the generalising function of plurality invariably refers to previous productions to which the present film is being compared and thus has an intertextual function.
