		From Kemijärvi on weekdays there is a coach to Savukoski, thence to Tulppio, from which a trail leads for about 15 km down the River Nuorttijoki to the park boundary.
		It is possible to approach close to the park by private car along logging roads.

	FSC Cross Country Results 2003
		Dan Savukoski (10th) and Matt Germain (13th), also recieved Alliance All-Star awards for placing in the top 20.

		In the autumn of 2001, I trekked along with two friends into the wilds of North Eastern Finland in the Kemi-Sompio and Saariselkä wilderness areas which are part of the Urho Kekkonen National Park, also called Kolliskaira.
		Having driven from Helsinki, on Friday 7th September we drove from Kilpijarvi, through Savukoski, Martti, Tulppio, and on to Kemiharra.
		We drove to Savukoski, had a long sauna and learned that the world had changed quite a lot in one week.
