  Blu-ray Review: Saw | High-Def Digest
Which is why I have to hand it to 'Saw.' This unassuming, low-budget (under $1 million) slasher-cum-serial killer mystery-thriller flick stunned Hollywood in 2004 when it came out of nowhere to gross over $50 million.
Such icky ethical quagmires are what makes 'Saw' perhaps the first mainstream horror franchise whose primary appeal is not solely based on the cruelty of its iconic horror villain, or its creative murder sequences, or relentless jolt scares.
No, 'Saw' continues to pack 'em in at the multiplex because we've become so scarred by the real-life horrors of this post-9/11 world that we know that sometimes in life there are situations in which there is no right answer.

Saw - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Reciprocating saw or sabre saw (mainly UK and Australia), action similar to a jigsaw, but much larger, more powerful and with a longer stroke with the blade parallel to the barrel.
Scroll saw, saw for making intricate curved cuts (scrolls), the first of which were pedal powered.
Mostly used in back saws because of its low price, its flow characteristics that make the material relatively easy to cast, and unlike other types of saw, the forces that take place in back saws are relatively low because of the pulling motion used.

Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW), M249 Light Machine Gun
The M249 SAWS is a lightweight, gas-operated, magazine or disintegrating metallic link-belt fed, individually portable machine gun capable of delivering a large volume of effective fire.
The SAW has become the standard automatic rifle of the infantry squad and has proven useful with the changing of the M16 to a three round burst weapon.
Background: The SAW was developed through an initially Army-led research and development effort and eventually a Joint NDO program in the late 1970s/early 1980s to restore sustained and accurate automatic weapons fire to the fire team and squad.

However, saw palmetto herbal blend therapy was associated with epithelial contraction, especially in the transition zone (p <0.01), indicating a possible mechanism of action underlying the clinical significance detected in other studies.
The standardized extract of saw palmetto is two capsules daily of 160 mg (or one capsule of 320 mg) containing 85-95% sterols and lipids.
The study's "bottom line" is that "saw palmetto is the only over-the-counter ingredient that appears to relieve—but not eliminate—the symptoms of an enlarge prostate...at least in some men." It also cautions that you should see a doctor to be sure that you don't have a more serious problem like a kidney infection or prostate cancer.

SAW dives right into the depths of the madness too, opening with our killer's current victims, two men chained on opposite ends of a filthy restroom, a body in the center clutching a cassette player and a handgun.
SAW fulfills that primal hankering, leaving you to utter `blech' and `bravo' in the same troubled breath, and wondering what your punishment would be like under the careful ministrations of this psychopath.
SAW put the taste of terror and gore back in my mouth, something that has been lacking in some of the recent sugar-coated intruders into this bloody domain.

Horizontal Band Saws - Miter Bandsaws - Metal Cutting Bandsaw, Band Saw
These miter saws are excellent for cutting at any angle up to 60 degrees into solid rounds, rectangles, as well as tubing and pipe.
The semi-automatic band saws have hydraulic clamping and a hydraulic saw head lift that activates after the saw is done cutting.
Each band saw is equipped with a DC variable speed drive and coupled to a very tight direct drive gearbox system allowing for the longest blade life due to no jittering, common on old pulley system designs.

To hold the bow for saw playing, hold it in your right hand by pinching the wooden stick between your thumb and fingers just as if you were holding the stem of a champagne glass.
Just as there are sweet spots on the top (flat) of the saw, there are equivalent sweet spots on the edge of the saw; and those are the sweet spots you will have to find with your bow.
Now when you pull the bow away from the saw, try bending the saw to play several pitches before the volume dies out - As the volume dies down, move the bow to the current sweet spot and give it another stroke.

 Saw
The film isn't scary in the slightest, thinking that epileptic camerawork is a canny replacement for actual anxiety, and though there's some John Dickson Carr pleasure in the locked-room conundrum that opens the piece, by the end the film has become something like a wilting hothouse melodrama about the importance of family.
Saw is outrageously stupid and, in its heart of hearts, more than a little desperate.
You can try to make a silk purse out of a Saw's ear (the bad guy lives in a mannequin factory on Stygian street--for dog's sake, that's probably the first place that I'd look), but you'd be a fool for trying.

 Saw : filmcritic.com Movie Review
The Saw trailer almost made me soil myself, and that was just from watching it in a 2-inch-wide screen at my desk and in broad daylight.
Saw’s story is high-concept and tantalizing: A madman is forcing strangers to play sick games as some form of punishment: A wrist-slashing suicide survivor is forced to burrow through a room full of razor wire or else he’ll be entombed in the chamber.
The biggest problem is that Saw’s big draw -- the sick games -- are all backstory, with the exception of the toilet scenario, which plays out in bits and pieces over the course of the movie.

Arrow In The Head's movie review of Saw: Cary Elwes/Dr. Gordon, Leigh Whannell/Adam, Danny Glover/Tapp
The “audience participation” nature of the flick tagged with its army of “knock you over the head” twists, its engaging investigation subplot (go Glover go!) and its sweet mean streak (look out for those shotguns) had me on the edge of the edge.
I felt trapped within Saw’s deadly grasp and was zealously piecing the shards of info together, yearning to see the big picture.
All things considered, “Saw" was a mostly well-acted, definitely captivating and hands-down vicious little horror thug that took me for quite the gruesome outing.

 Saw III
Because of its efforts to make sense of the previous entries and even attempt an earnest parable about forgiveness, Saw III may be the best of the trilogy; hopefully, it'll encourage its makers to wrap the franchise on a relatively high note.
Saw III isn’t just by far the best film of the series, it’s one of the better horror movies of the year.
Saw III is essentially a grim schoolyard game of 'would you rather...?' rendered in nasty vignettes.
