	County backs Scandia’s city plans
		Scandia has a population of 3970, which exceeds that of 10 cities in Washington County.
		In supporting the township’s petition to the state of Minnesota for incorporation, the county board noted the many public services already provided by Scandia and the township’s desire to promote its village center as a center for economic development.
		The hearing for incorporation of New Scandia Township is scheduled for July 19 and 20.
