Scandinavian death metal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scandinavian death metal concerns the death metal bands of Scandinavian origin.
Many bands that fall under this category are associated with the melodic death metal movement, thus giving Scandinavian death metal a very different sound from other variations of death metal.
The first wave of "Swedish death metal" consisted primarily of the bands Carnage and Nihilist, who fragmented later into Entombed, Dismember and Unleashed.

Death metal is known for very abrupt tempo ((music) the speed at which a composition is to be played) and count/time signature changes, and extremely fast and complex guitar and double bass drum (A musical percussion instrument; usually consists of a hollow cylinder with a membrane stretch across each end) work.
Death metal is clearly an outgrowth of heavy metal (A metal of relatively high density (specific gravity greater than about 5) or of high relative atomic weight), but the full story is complex and interesting, and is the subject of some debate among fans and musicians.

Death metal's subject matter usually addresses more nihilistic themes than any other genre (except maybe fl metal), usually using metaphors of a gruesome nature to represent a larger concept.
Death metal is commonly known for abrupt tempo and count/time signature changes, and extremely fast and complex guitar and drumwork, although this is not always the case.
However, other death metal historians maintain that the 1985 brand of "early death metal" is more aptly summarised by the moniker "post-thrash" and that the band Death receives inflated credit partly because of its name.

 Dismember
Dismember is a Swedish death metal band, formed in Stockholm in 1988 (see 1988 in music.
The album became an early example of Scandinavian death metal and established the band's fanbase, which grew with the release of Pieces[?] (1992, see 1992 in music).
While many of the other Scandinavian death metal bands began softening their sound in the mid-1990s, Dismember's Indecent and Obscene[?] was as close as they ever came to the mainstream, and they soon returned to their hardcore roots.

Metal had mutated and evolved a great deal since the beginning of the “Speed Kills” series, and listening to the first and last albums consecutively, it is difficult to believe that both are from the same series.

Scandinavian death metal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the early 1990s, a distinctively Scandinavian death metal scene arose, centered primarily around Gothenburg and Stockholm, Sweden, though also incorporating Finnish and Norwegian bands.
The Gothenburg sound was pioneered by bands such as Dark Tranquility, At the Gates, and In Flames.
As the 1990s progressed, the Norwegian and Swedish scenes continued diverging, with the latter's center moving from Stockholm to Gothenburg, where New Wave of British Heavy Metal influences became prominent, and Finnish acts continued this trend into the next millennium as all things Suomi rock began to break into mainstream European audiences.

 Cadaver - Melodic Death Metal
Influences of Swedish death metal are present in the exacting flutterstrum which shapes textures from reverberant columns of electric sound.
In its depths of expression, this release falls in metal history alongside the first Darkthrone album as an effort to make dark metal, between the aggression of death and the somber nature of other morbid music, which moved the mind into a hypnotic ambience of negativity and disillusionment.
For this time, this album was ahead of the curve with harsh open-throated vocals in contrast to the guttural thunder of most death metal, and attempted a complexity of interlocking structures in evenly-distributed linear patterns that rivals that of Neurosis for schizophrenic logic.

 Absu - Thrashing Black Metal
Absu combine the two elements, sounding like a Scandinavian death metal band with a fl metal ideal and some death metal adaptations in the Western hemisphere style (a good band to compare in terms of approach would be Hypocrisy, who have a similar mix of influences but a different take on the aesthetic of them).
Death metal comes in in the riff structure, which follows the standard all-phrasing little tonality idea that most of that genre embrace, but in the melodic undertones and dark cadences there is potent fl metal, something reinforced by the unearthly high-end scream laid down as a vocal track.
Quoting influences ranging from Led Zeppelin to Swedish death metal, the album moves from safer territory toward the more ecclectic and ambitious pieces for which this band are known, and in those moods recreates an essential and primitive quality to human existence.

Milling is generally done on a milling machine, which is a power-driven machine used for the complex shaping of metal (or possibly other materials) parts, by removing unneeded material to form the final shape.
In a metalworking lathe, metal is removed from the workpiece using a hardened cutting tool which is usually fixed to a solid moveable mounting called the "toolpost", this arrangement is then moved around the workpiece using handwheels and/or computer controlled motors.
This is often done by melting the workpieces and adding a filler material to form a pool of molten material that cools to become a strong joint, but sometimes pressure is used in conjunction with heat, or by itself, to produce the weld.
