There are also plans for Scania to produce its own body on the OmniDekka, similar to what it already does on the OmniCity and to have the Wright Gemini bodywork fitted in an attempt to win orders from large Wrightbus customers such as the First Group.
Scania came late to the low floor double decker bus market, having for more many years offered only the single deck L94UB on a Wright body to UK operators.
High profile uses of the OmniCity include use by First Group on service X54 in Hampshire and Dorset which operates a frequent service along the Jurassic Coast now a World Heritage Site and by Stagecoach on Corby Star services in Corby, Northamptonshire which have helped Stagecoach battle against taxis in the area.
