Scent of a Woman - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scent of a Woman is a 1992 film which tells the story of a preparatory school student who takes a job as an assistant to an irascible blind, medically retired Army officer.
It is at this point in the film that Colonel Slade reveals the real reason for his trip to New York: to eat at an expensive restaurant, stay at an amazing hotel, sleep with a beautiful woman, and then commit suicide.
Later, the sly Colonel tangos with a girl, and drives a Ferrari, with a very nervous and worried Charlie tagging along.

Some flowers have patterns, called nectar guides, that show pollinators where to look for nectar; they may be visible to us or only under ultraviolet light, which is visible to bees and some other insects.
Many of their scents are pleasant to our sense of smell, but not all.
Some plants, such as Rafflesia, the titan arum, and the North American pawpaw (Asimina triloba), are pollinated by flies, so produce a scent imitating rotting meat.

Director Martin Brest's directing career started with 'classic' 80's comedy, Beverly Hills Cop as well as the very amusing Midnight Run, but his recent resumé has turned toward weightier works such as Meet Joe Black and Scent of a Woman both of which were scored by Thomas Newman.
Scent of a Woman has a few quirkier features, but is mostly set on a bed of fragile strings and woodwinds.
As his father Alfred did, Thomas Newman seems to have the ability to perform musical alchemy with his string writing and the way it's performed, which invariably gives his music a very fragile quality, the feeling that the texture could be shattered at any minute.
