  Ash's Sceptile - Bulbapedia
Ash's Sceptile (Japanese: サトシのジュカイン Satoshi's Jukain) was the second Pokémon caught by Ash Ketchum in the Hoenn region.
Unlike others of his species, Sceptile keeps a twig in his mouth much like a 番長 banchō, juvenile gang leader, a character type that was common in manga and anime in the sixties and early seventies.
Sceptile was one of five Pokémon that Ash took with him on his journey to the Battle Frontier.

Pokemon Ruby Pokemon of the Day: Sceptile (#254) - IGN FAQs
While Sceptile's Crunch might not boast STAB, he at least has a killer Special Attack for the move to feed off of (which is, sadly, more than I can say for the majority of the Dark types that DO receive STAB on Crunch).
Even though Sceptile's Attack pales in comparison to his Special Attack, his physical offense is nonetheless decent enough to sustain an attack like Brick Break, and you'll of course want to have a physical move in tow should you run into anything with Amnesia, Light Screen or a naturally high Special Defense.
Aerial Ace could be useful to have in reserve for the Bug types Sceptile is weak against in addition to his fellow Grass types, though as far as type-matching goes your best bet is of course a Rock type attack (which would cover an incredible four of Sceptile's five defensive weaknesses).

Pokemon breeding - Game Boy Advance - Gaming - Discussion Forum /// Eurogamer
What I'm meant to do is breed the 2 that he doesn't have (I have Ruby version, and chose a Treecko, got a Sceptile now) and trade the babies back to him, that way we end up with all of the starter Pokemon.
I reckon he'll probably choose Mudkip as his final choice, which means I'll need to breed Torchis, and I think I know what Pokemon will breed with it, and my Sceptile.
I checked a breeding guide on Gamefaqs for Pokemon that Sceptile will breed with, but they don't seem to get on well.....
