 The Great Schism of Jainism
The history of Jaina religion is full of references to the various schisms that had taken place from time to time, and some of these schisms contributed to the rise of sects and sub-sects in Jaina religion.
Among these schisms, the eighth schism was more important as it ultimately split the Jaina religion into two distinct sects of Digambara Jainas and Svetambara Jainas.
According to the account of the eighth schism, known as the great schism, which is corroborated by historical evidence, the process of the split continued from the third century B.C. up to the first century of the Christian Era.

Schism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
More generally, especially outside of religion, the word schism may refer to the separation/split between two or more people, be it brothers, friends, lovers, etc. or any division of a formerly united movement in politics or any other field into two or more disagreeing groups.
The words schism and schismatic have found perhaps their heaviest usage in the history of Christianity, to denote splits within a church or religious body.
The word schism (IPA: ['sɪzəm] or ['skɪzəm]), from the Greek σχισμα, schisma (from σχιζω, schizo, "to split"), means a division or a split, usually in an organization.

but, considering the context of the song, it does seem to relate to religion in some way, but the song also seems to span relationships: the relationship between people, organizations, nations, belief systems, and anything else in which there is opportunity for division.

Which means that from 0:00 - 3:14 the song can be counted 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3-, but at 3:14 the song enters 7/8 timing, meaning the song is then counted 1-2-3-1-2-3-1 1-2-3-1-2-3-1, and continues in this timing until 5:03 when the song enters 5/8 timing, counted 1-2-3-1-2 1-2-3-1-2.

When the final schism occurred in 1054 between the Roman and Eastern churches, the Christians in southern Albania came under the jurisdiction of the ecumenical patriarch in Constantinople (see Glossary), and those in the north came under the purview of the papacy in Rome.
In the period from independence to the communist seizure of power, the Muslim noble class constituted Albania's ruling elite, but this group never interfered with religious freedom, which was sanctioned by the various pre-World War II constitutions.
