Although the three families of the Marsileales differ widely in morphology, recent studies have indicated that they should be considered a monophyletic grouping.
Other proposals suggest a relationship between the Marsileales and the Schizeales, or between the Marsileales and the Hymenophyllales.
However, the evidence is not really strong, athough there is some genetic evidence indicating a possible though ancient alliance with the Schizeales.

I got plenty of rest and relaxation this weekend and even caught up on the lessons I missed while I was in the Hospital Wing.
Did you know the species of fern known as Pteridopsida Schizeales exude a near-invisible lacrima that can be used for healing stings of magical beasts?
Inversely, it does nothing for stings from non-magical beasts, so muggles have written the lacrima off as unimportant.
