Dovber Schneersohn (or Dovber or Mitteler Rebbe ("Middle Rebbe" in Yiddish)) (1773 — 1827) was an Orthodox Judaism rabbi.
Rabbi Dovber Schneersohn was the son of Rabbi Shneur Zalman the founder of Chabad, and the father of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn the third Rebbe of Chabad known as the Tzemach Tzedek.
Rabbi Dovber Schneersohn, was the first Chabad rebbe to live in the town of Lubavich (now in present-day Belarus), the town for which this Hasidic dynasty is named.

Joseph Isaac Schneersohn (or Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn) (also known as the Friyerdikker Rebbe ("Previous Rebbe" in Yiddish) or Rayatz) (1880 - 1950) was the sixth Rebbe (rabbi) of the Chabad Lubavitch Hasidic Judaism movement.
As Rebbe of a Russian-based segment of the Jewish people, Rabbi Joseph I. Schneersohn was vehemently outspoken against the new aggressive Communist regime and its goals to establish atheism in the land.
Rabbi Joseph I. Schneersohn was already physically weak and ill from his suffering at the hands of the Communists and the Nazis, but he had a strong vision of rebuilding Orthodox Judaism in America and he wanted his movement to spearhead it.

Sholom Dovber Schneersohn (or Sholom Dovber or Rashab) (1860 - 1920) was an Orthodox rabbi and the fifth Rebbe (spiritual leader) of the Chabad Lubavitch Hasidic Judaism movement.
Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn was the son of Rabbi Shmuel Schneersohn the fourth Chabad Rebbe, and the father of the sixth Chabad Rebbe Rabbi Joseph Isaac Schneersohn.
Rabbi Sholom Dovber Schneersohn passed away on 2 of Nisan 1920 in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

Menachem Mendel Schneersohn (or Menachem Mendel or Tzemach Tzedek) (1789 - 1866) was an Orthodox Judaism rabbi of the Chabad Lubavitch Hasidic Judaism movement that was based in the town of Lubavitch in present-day Belarus.
Schneersohn was also known as the Tzemach Tzedek ("Righteous Sprout"), the name for a voluminous compendium of halakha (Jewish law) that he authored.
Schneersohn was the grandson of the first Lubavitch Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, and became the son-in-law of the second Rebbe, Rabbi Dovber Schneersohn.

On Elul 13, 5657 (1897), at the age of seventeen, Rabbi Joseph I. Schneersohn married Nechamah Dinah, the daughter of Rabbi Abraham Schneersohn, a prominent man of great scholarship and piety (and the grand-daughter of the Tzemach Tzedek).
As part of the strenuous efforts being made to improve the economic status of the Jews in Russia, Rabbi Joseph I. Schneersohn was delegated by his father to conduct an intensive campaign for the establishment of a textile factory in Dubrovna.
Rabbi Joseph I. Schneersohn was sent by his father to Germany and Holland, and was successful in obtaining the intercession of prominent statesmen on behalf of Russian Jewry.

In 1950, upon the death of his predecessor, father-in-law, and cousin Rabbi Joseph Isaac Schneersohn (Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn), known as the "Previous Rebbe" or Rebbe Rayat"z (an acronym of his name), Menachem Mendel assumed the leadership of the Chabad branch of Hasidic Judaism.
He was to lead the movement until his death in 1994, greatly expanding its worldwide activities and founding a network of institutions of Jewish study and Torah outreach.
