The Columbia Scholastic Press Association announced the results of its Crown Awards program for scholastic (middle, junior and senior high school) and collegiate publications during two special awards convocations.
Scholastic Crowns were presented on Friday, March 16, 2007 at Columbia University in New York City.
CSPA is an international student press association, founded in 1925, whose goal is to unite student journalists and faculty advisers at schools and colleges through educational conferences, idea exchanges, textbooks, critiques and award programs.

Scholastic philosophy usually combined logic, metaphysics and semantics into one discipline, and is generally recognized to have developed our understanding of logic significantly when compared to the older sources.
During the humanism of the 1400s and 1500s, scholastics were put to the background and somewhat forgotten (though revived in Spain in the School of Salamanca).
During the catholic scholastic revival in the late 1800s and early 1900s the scholastics were repopularized, but with a somewhat narrow focus on certain scholastics and their respective schools of thought, notably Thomas Aquinas.

 Scholastic Acquires Rights to Gooosebumps From Parachute Press
Scholastic Corp. and Parachute Press, Inc. announced that Scholastic has acquired all worldwide rights to R.L. Stine's Goosebumps property and that they have settled all outstanding disputes and litigation between the parties.
Under the agreement, Scholastic is paying an aggregate of $9.65 million to acquire the Goosebumps trademark and all rights to publish existing and future Goosebumps books and develop and exploit the property on a worldwide basis in all media.
Scholastic said the acquisition is expected to be earnings neutral in fiscal 2003.

In March 2000, Nancy Stouffer filed a federal lawsuit in Pennsylvania against JKR, Scholastic and Warner Bros., alleging violation of her trademark rights in the term "muggle," which she claimed she had used in her unsuccessful and sparsely-distributed children's books from the 1980s (in particular, her book titled The Legend of Rah and the Muggles).
JKR, Scholastic and Warner Bros. filed in the federal district court for the Southern District of New York, requesting declaratory judgment against Stouffer's claims.
