		The unincorporated Village of Seney is located in Seney Township, Schoolcraft County, in the east-central section of Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
		Based on the performance and drilling of wells in the area, it was known that a suitable water supply could be obtained by drilling to a depth of approximately 620 feet and that the aquifer at that depth would be artesian in nature.

		The next record was in 1865 a Michael Siver bought 160 acres in Kalamazoo County Township of Schoolcraft for 1000 dollars.
		This is in Benzie County in the Township of Colafax.
		At that time it was Township of Deerfield, it was changed to Covert in about 1876.
