 Topics in Quantum Dynamics
In these lectures we will be concerned with the well established Schrödinger equation, which is at the very basis of the current quantum scheme, and with its dissipative generalization - the Liouville equation.
The Schrödinger equation is more difficult than the Dirac one, and this for two reasons: first, it lives on the background of Galilean relativity - which have to deal with much more intricate geometric structures than Einstein relativity.
Replacing Schrödinger's evolution, which governs the dynamics of pure states, by an equation of the Liouville type, that describes time evolution of mixed states, is a necessary step - but it does not suffice for modeling of real world events.

 Schrödinger and Hamilton-Jacobi Equations
Because this interpretation is based on classical notions of space and time and because it derives entirely from the Schrödinger wave equation, it suffers from the same sin of mixing macroscopic notions of space and time with the microscopic world of quantum physics, where these notions become quite questionable.
Schrödinger equations, both the wave and discrete versions, operate on complex valued functions of time and space.
Substituting this polar form in the Schrödinger equation yields a complex differential equation, which can be readily split into real and imaginary parts.

 Schrodinger
Schrödinger was so entranced by his new theory that he threw caution to the winds, abandoned any pretence of critical analysis, and even though his new theory was scarcely hatched, he presented it to the Academy and to the Irish press as an epoch-making advance.
Schrödinger's early scientific work was inhibited by the absence of a group of first-class theoreticians in Vienna, against whom he could sharpen his skills by daily argument and mutual criticism.
Weyl was Schrödinger's closest colleague in his first years in Zurich and he was to provide the deep mathematical knowledge which would prove so helpful to Schrödinger in his work.

 VENUS ARTICLE
According to Baum (2003), Schröter association and friendship with the Herschel family and older William began when he met them during several organised musical concerts.
Schröter assumed that the direct cause of the irregularities, especially near the southern cusp, was a mountain or a mountain range - a Venusian Himalayas, while Herschel concluded the ‘alleged’ cause of the Schröter’s Venusian anomalies could possibly be attributed to Schröter’s tarnished speculum mirror.
It was these particular anomalies and their interpretation that lead to a somewhat passionate debate, mainly between Friedrich Wilhelm (later William) Herschel (1738-1822) and his fellow compatriot Johann Heironymous Schröter (1748-1816).

 Topics in Quantum Dynamics
Similarly for quantum mechanics: it is rather straightforward to construct generally covariant wave equations for Einstein`s relativity, while general covariance and geometrical meaning of the Schrödinger equation was causing problems, and it was not discussed in textbooks.
The Schrödinger equation describes time evolution of pure states of a quantum system, for instance evolution of pure states of a quantum particle, or of a many body system.
Second, Schrödinger's equation is about Quantum Mechanics and we have to take care about probabilistic interpretation, observables, states etc. - which is possible for Schrödinger equation but faces problems in the first-quantized Dirac theory.

 Schrödinger equation
In this situation, the Schrödinger equation may be conveniently reformulated as a partial differential equation for a wavefunction, a complex scalar field depending on position as well as time.
As with the force occurring in Newton's second law, its exact form is not provided by the Schrödinger equation, and must be independently determined based on the physical properties of the quantum system.
This form of the Schrödinger equation is the Schrödinger wave equation.

German court issues gagging order on Mail on Sunday over Schroder
A lawyer acting for the German chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, announced late on Thursday that he had won an injunction from a court in Hamburg forbidding the publishers of the Mail on Sunday from reporting on aspects of the chancellor's private life.
But more than one commentator has protested that the Schröders themselves blurred the line between private and public in the run-up last year's general election campaign when Doris Schröder-Kopf, a former political journalist, played an unusually prominent role in her husband's campaign.

 Schrödinger's Cat
Schrödinger's Cat is a gedanken or thought experiment originally devised by the Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935 to examine the implications of the recently developed theory of quantum physics.
The significance of Schrödinger's cat experiment is that it illustrates some of the most problematic aspects of quantum mechanics, aspects that Schrödinger himself (and Albert Einstein: "God does not play dice with the universe") did not like one little bit.
Schrödinger believed that this thought experiment demonstrated the limitations of quantum theory: namely that it most definitely cannot be applied to macroscopic objects.

Schrodinger's cat - a Whatis.com definition - see also: quantum indeterminacy, quantum measurement indeterminacy
Schrödinger's cat is a famous illustration of the principle in quantum theory of superposition, proposed by Erwin Schrödinger in 1935.
Schrödinger's cat serves to demonstrate the apparent conflict between what quantum theory tells us is true about the nature and behavior of matter on the microscopic level and what we observe to be true about the nature and behavior of matter on the macroscopic level.
Schrödinger himself is rumored to have said, later in life, that he wished he had never met that cat.

The most famous rill discovered by Schröter was later promoted to a valley and named in his honor.
