  Schuco antique teddy bears and vintage bears
Schuco, an abreviation of the full company name, was adopted as trademark and added to the picture of the small tumbling man..
They wore a red bow and plastic medallion on their chest saying "Schuco TRICKY patent" on one side and "Made in the US zone of Germany" indicating it was manufactured before 1953.
Schuco fully jointed bears, made in the mid 1920's, were made of brightly coloured mohair.

SCHUCO missed the correct timing for this change and had to file for bankruptcy in 1976.
The rest of SCHUCO’s assets were sold to the English company DCM in 1976, which also had to file for bankruptcy in 1980.
As in the past, SCHUCO is now focusing on the traditional and classic collector market and has attracted new groups of collectors to the brand by introducing new product lines such as historic motorcycle models in 1:10 scale or historic commercial vehicles in 1:43 and 1:18 scales.

Today, it is very difficult to find a mint-in-case Schuco model that does not suffer from moderate to severe paint wear on the roof; in fact, many collectors might prefer mint loose models that have no signs of case wear.
The Schuco 800-series remained on the market for less than a decade yet they are finally receiving some of the respect they always deserved and now they are being very actively collected.
Both Norev of France and REI of Brazil purchased many of the former Schuco dies and continued to produce the models for several years with minimal changes; in fact, Rei catalogs suggest that at least 36 Schuco-based models were offered.

Chances are they were manufactured by Schuco, arguably the world's oldest toy car company, dating to 1912 when it was known as Schreyer and Co. It took on the name of Schuco in 1921.
Schuco continued to make tin cars until the 1960s when tin cars went out of fashion and die-cast metal cars became the rage.
Though I may get around to assembling it someday, knowing what I know about Schuco and how valuable their toys become, I'll more likely just leave this exactly as it is.

Although these Trucks are 1:72 Scale (same as the Cararama Cars), the differences in scale between 1:72 and 1:76 are very small, thus meaning you can add these ranges of Trucks and Cars to all those Corgi and EFE Buses that we modelers have been collecting over the last decade or so.
The range of Lorries made for Schuco (German market) by Cararama / Hongwell to go with the established 1:72 scale cars have now been released for the British market by Cararama.
There is a misprint on the Cararama packaging, the models are 1:72 Scale as are the range of cars and the Schuco distributed models, however on the Cararama packaging 1:80 Scale is quoted we have spoken to Cararama who have acknowledged this as an error made in China.

Many great toys were being produced and the Classics pictured on the cover were only A sampling of Schuco's extensive line up of Top-of-the-Line toys.

It would be logical that the models were built and ready for the opening day ceremonies of the original Disneyland Mark I monorail during the summer of 1959; however, there is no record in the 1959/60 Schuco toy catalog of the monorails.
It appears now that the monorails were manufactured by Schuco from 1961 until 1969, but the monorail line was a huge disappointment since they never sold well.
After many years of collecting, I have all of the accessories that Schuco had to offer for the Disneyland monorails; however, I need 2 of the boxes for the accessories.
