Science Bowl is a high school academic competition, similar to Quiz Bowl, held in the United States.
The National Science Bowl organization recently announced the addition of a category for Current Events for the 2005 National Competition, though this category was not in use in the 2006 National Competition.
Note the difference between interrupt scoring in Science Bowl and in Quiz Bowl: the interrupt penalty in Quiz Bowl is -5 to the interrupting team, while in Science Bowl it is +4 to the non-interrupting team.

 Parent-Teen: Los Angeles DWP Regional Science Bowl 2001
The DWP (Dept. of Water and Power) Science Bowl, the nation's most successful regional competition, is set for Saturday, Feb. 17 from 8 a.m.
In the past six years, winning high school teams at the DWP Science Bowl have gone on to capture three national titles, two second place trophies and a fourth place finish.

The Earth Bowl is a three dimensional, edible representation of the earth in cross section.
Press the mixture on the bottom and along the sides of the glass bowl to form a crust.
(1) In the Earth Bowl the graham cracker crust represents the earth's crust which is about 20 miles deep; the fl cherry is the mantle (4,000 miles deep); the lemon gelatin is the outer core (2,200 miles deep); and the raspberry gelatin is the inner core (800 miles deep).
