  Spotted Arowana - Scleropages leichardti
Unlike its counterpart, the Jardini, this type of fish does not grow to be as big as the Asian Arowanas thus is less sought after by hobbyists.
The Jardini (Pearl Arowana) on the other hand is often passed off as an Asian Arowana since little difference may be seen at their early stages (between 0-8 months) and sold for a lot more than it's worth.
Scleropages are found to have a life span of about half a century and fossils (!) date back to the Jurassic era, making Arowanas the most prehistoric aquarium pet today.

Jardinis are usually purchased as 2 to 3 inch juveniles.
I would assume that they would be around the same price as the Jardini or a slightly more because they aren't as common.
Both the Jardini and the Spotted have a greenish coloration, the Spotted being darker.

It is also known that the Jardini is the MOST agressive of all Arowanas.

The Jardini as I will refer to the Australian Arowana is commonly known as the "Pearl Arowana" as they generally are a muted silvery white color with maybe a few red flecks on the scales and fins.

Known throughout the rest of the world as arrowanas, they are a highly sought after aquarium fish and due to difficulties in artificially breeding them and their slow breeding in the wild, they are very expensive.
The Asian arrowana (Scleropages formosa) is said to be a good luck charm to some cultures.
The northern saratoga (Scleropages jardini) are found from the Gulf of Carpentaria right across the top end into Western Australia with a few small pockets on the east coast of North Queensland.

I personally think that it is possible to keep silvers and fls together but be wary if you do that because they are also known for their aggression towards each other.

The only fish the Jardini is harassing is the Zonatus who harass it back.

Scleropages jardini, the more common of the two would be anywhere from 50-100 for a juvenile, but I'm in Virginia.
Scleropages leichardti, the spotted aro, with lots of polymorphs in the species, are harder to find.
I'm looking at a 5-6 inch jardini that's in great condition, for about 90 bucks.

Also, the number of scales in thelateral line is 32-35 for the latter and 21-25 for the former.
A point totake note here - not the whole Scleropages genus are under the CITES protection.Strictly speaking, only the four colour variations found in Asia are protected.

But if you really like a Jardini, Jardinis are beautiful but very agressive.
In fact, the most agressive of all Arowana thus having a tankmate for Jardini is near to impossible...
My jardini is around 15-16 inches now swimming in a 6 feet tank with a Siamese Tiger and Butterfly pleco as tankmates.
