Libby was born into a Jewish family in New Haven, Connecticut, and raised in Florida.
Libby, who was questioned by the FBI in the fall of 2003, and testified before a Federal grand jury on March 5, 2004 and again on March 24, 2004, states that he is completely innocent of the charges and that he will be exonerated.
Libby is married to Harriet Grant, a former staff lawyer for the Senate Judiciary Committee when the committee was chaired by Democratic senator Joe Biden.
