Scorn (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scorn is the one-man project of former Napalm Death drummer Mick Harris.
Nic Bullen, a founding member of Napalm Death, was also a member of the project from its inception in 1991 but was dismissed from the group in April 1995 after assaulting a bar patron with broken glass (he was sentenced to six months in prison for the attack).
Despite these resemblances, Scorn is often associated with industrial and experimental music, and is considered a rare example of a successful industrial/downtempo crossover artist.

Napalm Death - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Napalm Death is a grindcore/death metal band formed in the village of Meriden near Birmingham, England in 1982 by Nicholas Bullen and Miles Ratledge.
The band were initially inspired by the early wave of punk bands, particularly the anarcho-punk movement which included artists such as Crass, Flux of Pink Indians, Rudimentary Peni and The Ex: anarcho-punk was a sub-genre of punk music which was focused on extreme left-wing anarchist politics.
The band began to blend a mixture of the post-punk of Killing Joke and Amebix with heavy punk in the vein of Discharge and the thrash metal scene led by groups such as Possessed and Celtic Frost.

This is the second time that I've interviewed Mick Harris from Scorn, the last time which was a couple of years ago was a phone interview from his house in Nottingham.
He's definitely a full-time member of the band, he has as much say but just in the guitar department -that's all he wants to be involved with.
Another band from Birmingham already had the title Anadonia, Earache told us and I told Nick that I really liked names like Colossus, he came up with a list and at the top of the list was Evanescence.

 Scorn
Scorn is an amalgam of technology and searing rhythms, processed through a dub perspective.
With a full European tour and dates at the Mind the Gap festivals in Europe alongside God, Pitch Shifter, Main and the Revolutionary DubWarriors, Scorn demonstrated that the difference between them and their major league counterparts was being able to take to the road, and not simply restrict themselves to the safety of the studio.
Now Scorn has reached the end of the cycle with 'Logghi Barogghi', a record of minimal beats and gloomy soundscapes, marking the end of Harris' exciting departure into the dark ambient apocalypse.

Sigh - Satan Stole My Teddybear
Scorn Defeat, their first full length album, was originally released on Euronymous' Deathlike Silence label and was reissued in 2000 on a label called Psychic Scream.
As it stands, Scorn Defeat is a mildly interesting album that offers a handful of fairly basic blistering tunes that aren't quite fl metal (at least in the Scandanavian sense) nor as endearingly incompetent as a Venom influence might suggest.
At times it seems as though the band is simply trying to be weird for the sake of it or struggling far too hard to create an eerie atmosphere and mood.
