 Scorpion (comics)
Scorpion made his debut in Ultimate Spider-Man #97, the first issue of the Ultimate Clone Saga, where he was revealed to be one of many clones of Peter Parker.
Scorpion appears in Spider-Man: The Animated Series played by Martin Landau and then Richard Moll when Landau won an award and was no longer available to star in the series.
This incarnation is similar to the original comics version of the Scorpion, with superhuman strength and agility resulting from his genetic enhancement, using the Neogenic Recombinator, with scorpion DNA -referred to by the scientist who carries out the experiment as "a natural predator of the spider"- and an externally-mounted cybernetic weapon-tail.

 "The Scorpion King" - Salon
Even the animals in "The Scorpion King" are superior specimens: The picture boasts the comeliest camel I've ever seen, a glamorous creature whose fluff has been pruned and permed to cream-colored perfection -- and with none of those unsightly, unidentifiable dingle-dos sported by your garden-variety movie dromedary.
The Scorpion King and his sorcerer hottie do get it on, premaritally, but Russell gives us only the vaguest outline of the deed: There's a little bit of skin-on-skin, followed by the equivalent of birds singing in the postcoital morning sunshine.
It must be that scorpion juice, flowing full-force into her being and making her feel like one hell of a woman.

Navy says sinking of the Scorpion was an accident; revelations suggest a darker scenario   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-18)
But in fact, the Scorpion was at the center of a web of espionage, high-tech surveillance and a possible Cold War military clash that resulted in alleged agreement by both the United States and the former Soviet Union to cover up the full accounting of what happened.
A senior admiral in the Pentagon at the time of the Scorpion sinking said in a recent interview that U.S. intelligence agencies feared the submarine was headed into possible danger, based on intercepted Soviet naval communications in the Atlantic.
However, two senior Navy officials involved in the initial Scorpion probe in the summer of 1968 told the Post-Intelligencer that the Court of Inquiry conclusion of an accidental torpedo strike remains the most realistic scenario because of the key acoustic recordings of the sinking.

 Scorpion
By Chaykin's own admission (according to Comic Book Artist no. 16), the character was "the first initiation" of Chaykin creations such as Dominic Fortune and Reuben Flagg.
The Scorpion showed a lot of promise, and a welcome alternative to the superhero glut of the time.
Unfortunately, the first two issues were Chaykin's only work, as the third and last installment saw the character transplanted into a modern-day, superhero setting, complete with spandex and Marvelesque look and feel; again, an effort to steal some of the big dog's thunder.

Americomics / AC Comics / Paragon Publications | AC Comics History
Evolving in 1982 out of Bill Black's Paragon Publications, AC Comics® (Americomics in it's first year of existance only, AC since 1984) was one of the initial quartet of independant color comics companies who pioneered the direct sales phenomenon in the early '80's.
Inventing techniques to reproduce and recreate artwork from comic book's Golden Age, ferreting out history and interviewing actual creators led AC to present the genius of such luminaries as Lou Fine, Mort Meskin, Mac Raboy and countless others to a new generation, as well as preserving that work for many more to come.
It's successful license to produce comics and materials based on Roy Rogers and his cast of characters has allowed AC to cross over into new markets, and again bring this timeless hero to a new crop of young fans.

The crowd at the press conference is a little too eager to paint Spider-Man as the bad guy and Scorpion as the good guy, considering that Spider-Man was recently vouched for by Prodigy, and has consistently protected the city, while Scorpion and Roxxon are far easier targets for suspicion.
Gerard says, "By the time the morning papers hit the streets, he'll be public enemy number one--again." this overnight popularity change is unconvincing, mostly because it isn't done nearly as skillfully (both on the part of the writer and the characters) as the same change in Spider-Hunt was.
Speaking of the Scorpion's "improvements", maybe it's just me, but as far as I can remember, most of his abilities are exactly the same as the last time we saw him.
