Scot Thompson (born February 11, 1981 in New York, New York) is an American soccer player, who currently plays for the Portland Timbers of the USL First Division.
Upon graduating, Thompson was selected 16th overall by the Los Angeles Galaxy in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft.
Thompson was released at the end of the season and, despite professing intentions of going to Europe, re-signed with the Timbers.

We knew that Scot was only on loan and that he'd eventually go back to the Galaxy, but Alan Gordon wasn't on loan, he's one of our players, but now it seems we're going to lose him.
Both Scot and Alan were crucial to our success this season, and to lose either one of them is a horrible blow.
Scot Thompson did a truly amazing job of strengthening the Timbers' one weak spot, their defense, and Alan Gordon was a non-stop scoring maestro who was the top scorer in the league most of the season, which was an incredible accomplishment for a young rookie.
