Scott later confirmed that he was never a full time member of the band and that he was only helping them out.
He then recommended Gorham fly out to England in 1974 to try out for Supertramp, who at the time was considering adding another guitarist, but by the time he arrived, the group decided they wanted to go with a sax player instead.
Lizzy decided to call it a day after a farewell tour wrapped up at the end of 1983 (Gorham had previously told Lynott that he had to quit the band because his health was suffering), and while Gorham was able to successfully conquer his demons, Lynott was not as lucky, dying in January of 1986.

Scott came over a couple years later on the pretext that Supertramp (which I had just joined) needed another guitar player, instead of having a sax player.
Scott scuffled around London in different bands for a year or two until he was turned onto Thin Lizzy by Ruan O'Lochlainn, a grand fellow and great musician I had been working with while I played in Bees Make Honey.
Scott is still my best pal, and nobody makes us laugh like we do.

The seminal mid-70's quartet of Phil Lynnott, Scott Gorham, Brian Robertson, and Brian Downey, was responsible for a slew of radio rock classics such as 'The Boys Are Back In Town', and 'Dancing in The Moonlight [It's caught me in its spotlight]'.
Scott Gorham and John Sykes were in Thin Lizzy's final throes in 1983 on the 'Thunder and Lightning' and 'Life' tours, and they are the only surviving links left from the Lynnot period.
The first was during one of Scott Gorham's solos when the crowd clamoured at the front of the stage.

Scott Gorham says that the band felt the songs should be played and more importantly these gigs were a tribute to the late great Phil Lynott.
The line-up this time around (recorded in Germany in 1999) is Gorham, Sykes, Wharton from the old team and new boys Marco Mendoza and Tommy Aldridge for the recently departed Brian Downey.
John Sykes, as well as playing blistering guitar alongside Scott Gorham also takes on the difficult role of replacing Lynott's vocals, and by and large does a tremendous job.

I was still feeling a little too sick to care that there were 45 year old drunk men lurking around me. The band consisted of John Sykes on lead vocals and guitar, Scott Gorham on guitar, Marco Mendoza on bass and Tony Aldridge on drums.
Scott has been apart of the band the longest, since 1974 actually, though he left again in 1983.
Gorham has often felt guilty about the death of singer Phil Lynott, as he had a bad drug habit as well.

It was their 11th show in a row and everyone was pretty much beaten, the show was magnificent but Sykes disapointed with being uninspired while Scott Gorham was quite the opposite - and made a whole new impression compared to the tour 1998.
However, Scott Gorham whom left the venues as quick as possible last year was now in the middle of everything, chatting, joking and just having a great time.
As we all had to leave, the club was closing, Scott asked for a lift back to the hotel (why wait for a cab when you have fans with a car?) - so, the 5 of us went back to the hotel in Daniela's niceandsmall car...

Bell quit the band a year later and was temperarily replaced by former Skid Row guitarist Gary Moore in '74.
Between '77 thru '79, Robertson left (he would join Motörhead in '82) and was again replaced (temperarily) by Moore who would eventually join for the recording of 1979's Black Rose (A Rock Legend).
Gorham and Sykes reformed Thin Lizzy with Downey on drums and went on tour in '94 as A Tribute To Phil Lynott.

I think that Scott Gorham's opinion of the "Thin Lizzy" tour is that it is a comeback as opposed to a tribute.
I do not believe Scott Gorham in particular needs to make money by touring, having grown up as a "rich kid" in Glendale, California, therefore I wonder where his money went.
I refuse to be brainwashed into liking Scott Gorham simply because he was in Thin Lizzy.

Its not that big of a club and great for seeing acts up close and personal.1/18/2001--The only name in the band I recall is scott Gorham.

As a replacement to the departing John Cam, Scott Gorham completed the infamous Thin Lizzy line-up that on signing a new deal with Vertigo in 1974 delivered the celebratory anthem The Boys Are Back In Town taken from the Top 20 album Jailbreak.
In alignment with Phil Lynott, Gorham produced some of Thin Lizzy's more blistering guitar attacks as exemplified through the post punk fallout of Bad Reputation and the more traditional rock fayre of Black Rose.
Although Thin Lizzy split in 1983, Scott Graham went on to form 21 Guns who have enjoyed a huge following and successful albums in Japan and Europe.

Scott Gorham was related to someone in Supertramp.
