McInnis member of the Colorado House of Representatives from 1983 to 1993.

McInnis said the campaign committee was forced to spend more than $100,000 on auditors, lawyers and other expenses while defending the case during the past year.
McInnis said he was vindicated and that former Democratic Party officials who signed the complaint were lucky the law does not allow him to file a counter-claim to recover defense costs.
