		Scott Speed, 23, is the first U.S.-born driver to secure a Formula 1 ride since Michael Andretti in 1993 and the first to race in an American round of the Grand Prix series since Eddie Cheever finished third at Phoenix in 1989.
		Speed took part in practice sessions for last year's U.S. Grand Prix as a test driver for Red Bull Racing, but this year he's an entrant with a second team under the energy drink's banner.
		But Speed comes to Indianapolis on the heels of a 10th-place finish last week in Montreal, and in his third Grand Prix, at Australia, he notched an 8th-place finish — good enough for a single point — until a post-race penalty set him back one spot to 9th.
