Junior football is a bit of a nightmare subject to research in Dumfriesshire - there are three distinct periods when the juniors flourished - late 19th and early 20th century, 1911-26, and 1945-53.
By 1907, the Junior scene in the county was on the wane and the Junior FA disbanded.
In late 1911, the association was briefly revived as the Dumfries and Maxwelltown Junior FA.
