 William Shakespeare - Plough Sunday raises £324 for the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal
The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust joined together with Wilmcote Scout Group last sunday to celebrate the ancient tradition of Plough Sunday and raise money for the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal
The plough, decked in ribbons and a wreath was led through the village by Wilmcote Scout group to the sound of bagpipes, played by Mary Arden's House, Farm Manager, Joe Moore.
The ancient custom of Plough Sunday was traditionally the day when work would commence on the land after the twelve days of Christmas and was a day of much merriment and celebration for the farming community.

Twenty Scoutmasters with nearly 180 Scouts and helpers left in HMS Crocodile for Seville on Sunday April 27th, and were received there by Señor Alcain, Commissioner for Scouts in Seville, several Scoutmasters and a Troop of Seville Scouts, who escorted them to their quarters.
Scouting continued to flourish during this period and in June 1916, in response to an invitation from the President of the Spanish Boy Scouts, Gibraltar Boy Scouts marched across the frontier to La Linea to take part in the inauguration ceremony of the newly formed Troop there.
A rally was held, Scouts from Madrid and other large towns were present, and it was attended by high civil, military and ecclesiastical officials.

For many years Kinder was barred to walkers, being preserved as a grouse moor.

 Girl Scout Cookies
The girl scout cookie sale started January 19th and ended Sunday, Feb. 4th, but they always order extras so you can get some from girl scout leaders in your area during delivery days or at their booth sales.
Cookies are $3.00 a box of which 30 cents goes to their local troop I'm told by the Shining Trails Council that it is called each girls "Cookie Dough." and she can spend it however they decide - on events, camp, shopping at the scout store.
Fifty-six percent of cookie sales go for girl program, adult development, property maintenance (camp), financial aide for scouts needing help for camp etc, 28% of the $3.00 goes for the cost of the product, 14% is troop proceeds (the 30 cents), and 2% is administrative costs.

Being a totally crummy daughter, I ordered a flower for my mom's garden, but too late for her to get it by yesterday, forgot to send a card and didn't even call until late in the day, when she was out and so all I did was leave a voicemail.
And yes, if you are wondering, The Boy and The Girl both will eat everything, although peeling the edamame and occasionally shooting a soy bean across the room is their favorite part.

This is a BSA camp site and is part of the Horseshoe Scout Reservation in Pennslyvania.
