 Select Hikes Red River Gorge Backpacking
As a side note, I'm working on scouting a path that would make a very long 2-3 day loop hike possible.
Sheltowee Trace is a huge trail that runs from Tennessee almost to the Ohio River, the section of it that crosses Red River Gorge is probably the most scenic section of it.
The three longest trails are Rough Trail 221(the most common backpacking trail, with many variations), Swift Creek Trail 219, and Sheltowee Trace (which is blazed with a white turtle logo on the trees).

James Broyhill wrote, "We were employed in scouting and skirmishing with the Indians until June." He then marched home and arrived back in Pittsylvania County about the first of July.
In an undated letter, William Irving Broyhill, son of James Broyhill Jr., states that he was born in Tennessee in 1821, and that his father had decided to move to Illinois because of his opposition to slavery.
James Broyhill next appears in Wilkes County records on February 20, 1822, when he sold Richard Hood two tracts of land (No money was given).
