Scouts Australia is part of the global Scouting movement and national member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
The Chief Scout of Australia is the Australian Governor General, who is the representative in Australia of the Monarch (currently Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II).
Australia was made a member of the World Scout Organisation of Scout Movements (WOSM) in 1953 and is a Founder Member of the Asia-Pacific Region.

The new campaign shows Scouts having a great time in adventurous activities with the tag lines "Keep Your Video Games", and "Keep Your Spectator Sports".  Scouts Australia is also producing community service announcements for TV and newspapers around Australia.
Scouts who incorrectly guessed the ‘wonky donkey' animal were given a pie in the face, those in the ‘Naked Jesse' cooking segments made things like chocolate sauce and cold pea pies, and one Scout per show had to stand in the "vomit comet" and take a shower of disgusting goo.
The Scouts were divided into groups of three.  While one group spent 20 minutes climbing, the rest did other Scouting activities such as first aid, knotting and compass work.
