  MOD music tutorial, v1.0
In ScreamTracker terminology, a "note" is the beginning of an event--it signifies the time an instrument is "played" (for example, when a piano key is first struck).
ScreamTracker does give you capability to play 32 simultaneous instruments, but this effect is handled by a process known as mixing.
ScreamTracker allows up to 99 different patterns, but there are 255 order "slots" available--thus, one pattern may be played several different times in a song.

I completed my first song on the 4th of august 1994, and so far I have done about 25-30 complete songs, out of which I only like a few myself.

Those of you who have visited this page previously will notice a new format--I've broken the page up into several smaller pages which (hopefully) will eat up less loading time.
If you are interested in creating your own MOD music, you will need a TRACKER (MOD music creation program) and SAMPLES (digital instruments).
For a beginner's tracker, I'd recommend ScreamTracker 3.21 or ModEdit 3.0.
