	Scrith - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		It forms the walls and floor of the Ringworld.
		Due to its enormous strength, scrith is impervious to most weapons.
		The Ringworld engineers used a device, the cziltang brone, to pass from the vacuum of their spaceports right through the scrith to the habitable surface of the Ringworld.

		The translucence of scrith is not apparent at this scale.
		Unfortunately, the rim wall is so small compared to the width of the ring that unless I shaded it in some garish manner, such as making it hot pink, it simply didn't show up at all.

		At some point in the past, the Ringworld civilization fell to ruins when an organism apparently introduced from an arriving ship destroyed most of the superconductor materials.

	Ring Around the Planet
		It'd need to be built out of "scrith" (read Ringworld by Larry Niven).
		It would also be completely unstable in that any disturbance (the moon's gravity for instance) would move it slightly.
		Of course, if you did have scrith, then it'd be okay then.

	1212M...some problems with a game - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio
		By the way, before I lose the sound in Far Cry, I am hearing some distortion in the sounds (footsteps, gun shots, etc).
		I went to the ubisoft support forum, and after some digging around, found someone else with the same sound problem.
		In fact, I didn't even notice a performance hit while I was playing a FLAC with foobar2000 in the background while testing my sound...so I really don't think sound card performance is much of an issue (for me, anyway).
