Edgard Varèse - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Although it was composed with pre-existing instruments, Ionisation was composed as an exploration of new sounds and methods to create them.
In 1933, while Varèse was still in Paris, he wrote to the Guggenheim Foundation and Bell Laboratories in an attempt to receive a grant to develop an electronic music studio.
The University of New Mexico has an RCA theremin, which may be the same instrument.

 Radionics, SE-5
Instruments have been developed to expand and amplify our senses to form a communication link with the subtle biofield energies.
Instruments can now detect the informational contents of the biofield to locate imbalances or interferences in the flow of energy and to change or modify the energetic qualities of life.
The laws and principles of energy instrumentation are therefore not that of Newtonian physics but are grounded in concepts of advanced quantum mechanics, resonance, harmony, reinforcement, interference, balance and imbalance.

The instruments were connected by cables to the respective recording units that were placed on elevated platforms behind the tripod/boom/instrument apparatus.

An instrument is a sound-synthesis algorithm with certain parameter settings, usually designed to emulate a specific real-world musical instrument or to achieve a specific sort of sound effect.
Before the instrument can be used to play notes, it must first be loaded onto a synthesizer, and then it must be selected for use on one or more channels, via a program-change command.

I just had my (20 year old) Stick refurbished by SE, and they did a fantastic job, so it's obvious that they care about every instrument that they put their hands on.
The great thing about getting a used Stick from SE is that they won't let it leave their doors without it being in as good condition as possible.
Also, depending on the age of the instrument, and what options it has on it, you could, when ordering, ask for a new pickup to be installed (if you wanted a Block for instance), or an adjustable bridge added (if it's a pre-1992 model), etc.

Developmental Screening Instruments Frequently Asked Questions
The use of a developmental screening instrument as part of a clinical visit is strongly encouraged to correctly assess the developmental health of a child.
Minnesota communities vary greatly in their diversity, and it is important to acknowledge that an instrument that works well for one population may not work as well for another population.
A reliable instrument is one in which differences in test results are attributable less to chance and more to such systematic factors as lasting and general characteristics of the child.

CloudyNight's forums: 42mm Nikon Binocular Duel
The SE binoculars are significantly wider than the LX binoculars due to the porro prism design, which results in the familiar "Z" shape of traditional binoculars (the objective ends being farther apart than the eyepieces).
M80 is visible in both instruments, but is easier to see as non-stellar and to separate from a nearby star in the 10x42s.
In both instruments, considerable nebulosity from unresolved stars is present, which is why I would categorize this cluster as an extended object in 8x and 10x binoculars.

 Origins of the Qin
The earliest surviving instruments with the same form as the modern qin date from about the 7th century, but the descriptions in Qin Fu by Xi Kang (223 - 262) suggest that its form was the same at least in the 3rd century CE, and had been so for some time already.
The poem describes enough of the physical details of the qin to suggest that it was already rather similar to the qins surviving from the Tang dynasty and later.
It thus remains uncertain what exactly the shape was of the instrument said to have been played by, for example, Confucius and his contemporaries.
