 The Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center
A brochure at the center calls the SECC Museum a place dedicated to “preserving the rich multicultural history of Seabrook, New Jersey.” Inside the brochure is an essay by Rei R. Noguchi, professor of English and linguistics at California State University, Northridge, and a former Seabrook resident.
Over the past sixty years, the Seabrook Japanese have adapted to the surrounding culture, while still maintaining a connection with their ethnic background....There is an active Buddhist congregation at Seabrook,...it helped Japanese residents maintain and practice their cultural identity for many years before the Seabrook Educational and Cultural Center opened.
In 2001 the Seabrook museum opened a new display room in her honor, the Ellen Nakamura Memorial Art Gallery, which exhibits paintings by refugee residents and workers at Seabrook Farms.

Eventually the Japanese Peruvians left for jobs at Seabrook Farms in New Jersey, as many Japanese Americans had done previously.

Satsuki Yasumoto, formerly of the Colorado River Relocation Center, is pouring beans into a package-filling machine in the processing plant of the Deerfield Packing Corporation at Seabrook Farms, Bridgeton, N.J. Prior to evacuation he was a farm worker at Watsonville, California.
Satsuki is one of over 400 evacuees from most of the relocation centers employed at Seabrook Farms.
