  DVDAnswers.com - DVD Reviews - Buffy - Season 2 (Region 2)
In her first year (season 1) in Sunnydale Buffy befriends them all (except Cordy), saves the world from the master vampire - opening up a portal to kill all good in the world and falls in love (with Angel).
Season 2 is an improvement upon season 1, but don’t expect perfection.
Audio is never distorted and is fun to listen to, although sometimes a little low in volume (solution: TURN IT UP) Buffy Season 2 is never hard to hear and it is always in sync and crisp.

Amazon.com: DVD: Angel - Season Two (2000)   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
Angel: Season 2 was where the show started to move into its own 'formula', and the opening statement that Angel himself was not devastated by the loss of Buffy served to encompase one fact: the show was on its own.
Where the first season essentially followed the monster-of-the-week plus occasional storyline episode formula that has been tried and true on Buffy, Season 2 started to move away from that into the darker, emotionally churning state of being that we viewers have grown so used to in the third and fourth seasons.
The second season of Angel also points at the show's tendency to serve an overarching plot rather than a seasonal "Big Bad", when it ends with a trip to a different dimension instead of concluding the Darla storyline (which is completed in the third season).

The Twilight Zone - Season 2 @ Filmbug
It's a great deal cheaper than season 1 (though there are less episodes in this season) but packs a lot of punch considering the high benchmark set for the show's debut season.
Season two also brought about budget restraints, which lowered the total number of episodes and caused several to be shot on videotape.
Idelson had acted in a season 1 episode but actually wrote this episode himself, though Charles Beaumont is credited with co-writing it -- Idelson goes into a bit of detail in regards to this.

Among the other trivia to note: One of the season's producers and lead writers was Shawn Ryan, who would later leave to create The Shield, one of television's best cop dramas.
After all of the controversy regarding the choice of widescreen aspect ratio on overseas releases of the later Buffy seasons (such as Season 4), Angel's second season is presented on DVD in 16:9 widescreen anyway.
Viewers who consider themselves purists and want to see the season in the exact way that it was originally broadcast will note that the Region 4 edition from Australia is presented in 4:3 full frame (though the Region 2 editions from Europe are widescreen).

 Smallville: Season 2
Now, all the relationships founded in the first season must grow, plot arcs must be extended and the audience has to be pulled deeper into the world created by the series.
Season two does make an attempt to get away from the Kryptonite mutation villains that where prevalent in season one.
While many of the continuing story lines in this season are soap opera in nature they do the job of drawing the audience into the world of Smallville and permit the viewer to identify with strange and unusual characters.

Amazon.co.uk: DVD: Angel: Complete Season 2   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
On the DVD: Angel, Season 2 on disc presents all the episodes in their original 16x9 widescreen format (2.35:1), which enables viewers to see shots as they were originally conceived, for example in impressive moments like the march of the four vampires through a burning Shanghai or the climaxes of the mediaeval Pylea sequence.
Season 2 of Angel carries on from the great episodes that season 1 ended with, the show is now sure of itself, and knows what it's doing.
This season of Angel is where the characters really begin to come into their own, with each of them given a few episodes which put them into the spotlight.

Season 2 is, in my humble opinion, the darkest season in many respects, but Joss Whedon constructs the story in such a nuanced fashion that the dark aspects are far more subtle.
This is the season with the perfect balance of horror, romance, comedy, and drama, and all the characters are at their absolute best (even when they're at their worst).

Muppet Central Articles - Reviews: Farscape - Season 2
Season Two obviously had some bold new territory to explore and was faced with a major challenge: sustaining the momentum and consistent quality of what's come before.
Even back in Season One, after setting up the characters and situations, the show immediately started to start shake itself up and twisting what we thought we know about the characters on its ear, becoming darker and more adult as early as episodes eight and nine.
Up until this point, Season Two had already developed even more of a darker tone in its stories, characterizations and look and as a story "CDM" was a marvelous exploration of dark humor - presenting an intense subject of the worst of human (and alien) nature through insane comedy.

dOc DVD Review: Strangers With Candy: Season 2 (2000)
Strangers With Candy ran for just three seasons (1999-2001) on Comedy Central, and in that short span of time managed to make its mark as one of the weirdest and funniest shows on television, albeit with a level of humor that continually pushed the limits of cable's looser censorship restrictions.
This Season Two set, consisting of all ten episodes from 2000, finds the show settling into a comfortable groove, offering up some of the best moments of its three-year run, with Sedaris once again decked out in fatty pants and buck teeth, as she is transformed into the leering, cocksure Jerri Blank.
Season Two also features a classic two-parter, when Jerri joins a weird religious cult (Safetrap House) that preys on the friendless, as well as the departure of Jerri's catatonic father, Guy (Robert Gari), who is ripped apart by wild dogs in the season's fourth episode, The Goodbye Guy.
