The researchers discounted all fixtures involving the Old Firm in every league season, and in the cups they declared that the winners were the club which lost to one of the Old Firm in the final (when there was an Old Firm final, they “awarded” the cup to the semi-finalist beaten by the eventual winner).
Next season they will be back to square one with Celtic and Rangers blocking their path, seeming as immovable as ever.
